Bernardo Silva slams his team’s performance, says they played like U15s, no wonder they lost at home to Man Utd
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva was harshly critical of the team’s performance after their 2-1 derby defeat to Manchester United.
He said his team “played like U15s” towards the end of the game and deserved to lose due to the mistakes they made.
“We deserved to lose,” Silva told โปรโมชั่น ufabet Sports, sounding frustrated.
“If it’s one or two games you can say it’s bad luck, but when it happens 10 games it’s not luck anymore, it’s our fault.”
Silva added that the derby mistakes showed the team’s carelessness at crucial moments.
“In the 87th minute we were leading 1-0 but then we gave away a penalty. It was a stupid decision. When you make a mistake like that in the last three or four minutes, you deserve to be punished.”
He also pointed out that the team’s problem was not just this game, but the overall performance over the past month.
“We can’t claim bad luck. It’s about decisions on the pitch. Today we played like U15s at the end of the game.”
“It’s not just the wrong pass from Matheus (Nunes) to the goalkeeper, it’s everything, from the ball going from Ruben (Dias) to Matheus and Kyle (Walker). We have to do better.”
“We are not happy with the situation, not just this game but the past month,” Silva concluded. “We have to improve as a team and as individuals because this is not the standard of Manchester City.”
