Mario Hermoso is not ruling out a return to La Liga amid links with Real Madrid.
Roma’s 29-year-old Spanish centre-back Mario Hermoso has hinted he will not rule out a return to La Liga amid links to boyhood club Real Madrid, who are struggling with a number of defensive injuries, Ufabet reported on Friday.
Hermoso rose through the youth ranks at Real Madrid before moving to Espanyol in the summer of 2017, before moving to Atletico Madrid two years later and establishing himself as one of the best centre-backs in La Liga, before joining Roma on a free transfer this summer, penning a three-year deal with the Giallorossi.
Before Hermoso was one of the centre-backs linked with a move to Real Madrid, the 29-year-old defender has not ruled out a return to the Spanish league.
‘Yes, yes, I read it, many friends also mentioned it to me. It happens in the transfer market in general, every time you are linked with a great team, it is an honour. I was in their youth team and I am grateful for everything they have helped me with my training.’
‘I’m 29 years old, most of my career has been in Spain. I love football, La Liga and being in your country makes everything easier. I can’t close the door to going back to Spain,’ Hermoso said.
There has been much debate over the youngsters from Real Madrid’s academy not getting a chance in the first team. Where Hermoso also had similar experiences.
‘It happened to me, I couldn’t be in the first team consistently. But that’s what made me go to Espanyol and I’m very proud of my time in Barcelona. I gave everything and they gave me everything. I’ll always have great memories and I feel very loved. ‘
‘In Madrid there are ยูฟ่าเบท youngsters with great potential. I hope they will take advantage of this opportunity if they have it.’
